Texas is the Future of Energy
Texas has dominated energy for more than a century, and it holds all the ingredients to lead energy for the century to come. Business friendly, with highly competitive and deregulated grid, Texas leads the US in renewables deployment by nearly every conceivable metric.
The state has by far the highest concentration of both conventional and new energy companies in the world, and developers and original equipment manufacturers spanning every step in energy supply chains.
Combined with a burgeoning venture and innovation ecosystem, adjacent defense and aerospace industries and leading academic institutions, Texas is the rightful owner of the future of energy.
However, Texas has not scratched its potential to lead the energy transition, due to three major inefficiencies:
Ecosystem Connectivity
Access to established industry players is essential for nearly all new energy start-ups, but there are few forums to build these relationships and limited coordination across industry, investors and others.
Access to Capital
Many investors lack depth and resources to properly evaluate new energy start-ups, due to detailed nature of policy & regulatory diligence, specialized technology considerations, and market complexity.
Efficiency of Innovation
There is no structured feedback loop between industry and innovators, leading to wasted energy and capital going to solutions that do not meet the biggest pain points and priorities within the industry.
Energy Innovation Hub addresses these barriers through a comprehensive approach to system change:
EIH supports connectivity and across the energy ecosystem through regular events, programming, thought-leadership, policy advocacy, coworking spaces and other community resources.
Connected Ecosystem:
EIH works with leading industry players as a shared service innovation arm to understand and specify highest priority innovation needs, then identifying, sourcing or incubating these start-ups. We take a hands-on role bridging innovation to strategic partners throughout initial commercial discussions, validation, pilot and beyond.
Industry-Led Innovation:
EIH gets high value companies funded by providing the sourcing, rigorous diligence and founder support many early stage investors do not have capacity to execute. We facilitate pre-seed and seed checks from broad investor community through Special Purpose Vehicles and will also invest directly through dedicated Seed Fund.
Access to Capital:
